Join our team as a Construction Inspector supporting Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) across multiple terminal and building improvement projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring quality, safety, and code compliance throughout the Tenant Improvement Program. You’ll be part of a dedicated Quality Assurance and Construction Inspection team overseeing large-scale airport projects and working collaboratively with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Conduct daily construction inspections to ensure compliance with LA City Building Codes, ADA requirements, and project specifications.
Review and interpret construction documents, including blueprints, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
Prepare comprehensive daily inspection reports detailing construction activities, issues, and safety observations.
Verify contractor compliance with jurisdictional and LAWA standards.
Support special inspections and testing coordination with engineers, contractors, and third-party agencies.
Track and document time-and-material work, field changes, and job quantities.
Assist in validating contractor progress payment requests and reviewing schedules of values.
Inspect building construction activities including:
Demolition, excavation, grading, shoring, and backfill
Structural and non-structural concrete work
Metal stud framing, drywall, interior finishes, and ceilings
Door, hardware, fire-rated assemblies, and related systems
Sewer and storm drain installations
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of experience performing building inspections.
Clear understanding of LA City Building Code and ADA requirements.
Ability to pass a background check and obtain a LAWA SIDA badge.
Physically able to walk long distances, climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and access confined areas.
Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
ICC Certifications and/or Deputy Inspector Licenses (preferred, not required).
Experience inspecting large-scale airport or public building facilities.
Strong ability to identify and resolve deficiencies, ensuring compliance with plans and safety regulations.
Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills.
