Description Robert Half is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to identify a Security Analyst (contract). In this role, you will serve as the key technical resource for multiple security technologies, including Firewalls, VPN, endpoint security, and MS365 security. The analyst partners with technology and business teams to identify risks, implement security best practices, and support compliance with regulatory standards. This role is onsite in Austin, TX daily. Key Responsibilities: + Identify, prioritize, and work with owners to eliminate vulnerabilities across the organization. + Advise on and test controls required by current threat environment. + Perform proactive hunting for threats that may have escaped alerting systems. + Supporting SOC teams in enhancing detection capabilities for Corporate Security tools. + Prepare detailed security review reports and remediation guidance. + Assist in preparing and maintaining security documentation, such as policies, procedures, and compliance evidence. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems, or a related field + 4+ years of proven experience within cybersecurity + Familiarity with cloud and endpoint observability and EDR tools (i.e., Defender, CrowdStrike, Sentinel, Splunk) + Knowledge of firewall administration, endpoint security technologies, proxies, antivirus, IDPS concepts, and SIEM solutions + Basic familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and awareness of how AI/ML tools are used in cybersecurity + CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or similar foundational certifications (plus) Contract Benefit Offerings: + Healthcare (medical, dental, and vision plans) + 401(k) and retirement plans + Commuter benefits + Employee and vendor discounts + Employee Assistance Program (EAP) + And many more!
