Fire Protection Engineer (Junior / Senior) | Ogden, UT

Nexeo is seeking Junior and Senior Fire Protection Engineers to join our team in Ogden, UT. These roles offer the opportunity to design, implement, and oversee fire protection programs and systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and project requirements.

This onsite position offers a 9x80 work schedule, paid overtime, and relocation support for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain fire protection program requirements

• Support facility audits, inspections, and ITM (inspection, testing, maintenance) of fire sprinkler and alarm systems

• Maintain knowledge of fire protection systems, process flow diagrams, system design descriptions, and safety documentation

• Oversee Hot Work Permit programs and technical safety inspections

• Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions

• Coordinate fire protection elements during project planning and execution

• Prepare and maintain fire protection documentation and reports

• Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff (Senior-level)

• Lead fire protection plans, audits, and technical inspections (Senior-level)

• Conduct presentations and interface with management and regulatory agencies (Senior-level)

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

• Real ID-compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID

• Ability to complete pre-employment background check and drug screening, including marijuana testing

• High School diploma or equivalent, plus Fire Protection certification or degree

• Proficiency with fire protection standards, NFPA codes, and facility fire system practices

• 2+ years of fire protection experience (Junior-level)

• 6+ years of fire protection experience (Senior-level)

• Degree or certification in Fire Protection strongly preferred

• P.E. license in Fire Protection desirable

• Active Secret Security Clearance (preferred)

• Experience with inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) for fire systems

• Strong communication, documentation, and mentorship skills

Pay

$90,000 – $180,000 DOE

Schedule

100% Onsite | 9x80 Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)
