Job Description

What you’ll do

• Gain hands-on experience formulating permanent hair color products in a laboratory setting 
• Learn to batch and shade-match hair color formulations under the guidance of experienced scientists 
• Work in a GLP-compliant environment, following industry-standard lab practices and documentation 
• Support the development and testing of innovative hair color technologies for Joico and Vero K-PAK 
  
• Assist in evaluating product performance through lab testing and color analysis 
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to real-world product development projects  

What makes you a good fit

• A rising senior graduating in 2027 or master/graduate student pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Environmental Science 
  
• Basic understanding of color theory, including primary, secondary, and tertiary colors 
  
• Interest in cosmetic science or formulation chemistry, especially in hair color technologies

Additional information

• This internship is eligible for a housing stipend or relocation support.  
  
• Henkel’s Summer 2026 internship program starts on May 27th, 2026, and runs through mid-August.   
  
• Recruitment for our 2026 internships starts in late August 2025 and runs through early March 2026 or until all our positions are filled.

The salary for this role is $22-$27/hour. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
