Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Lead Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Comfort Inn & Suites Midtown in Ruidoso, NM. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong technical skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC systems, room PTAC units, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and appliances.
• Handle minor plumbing, drywall repair, caulking, and painting tasks to ensure guest rooms and facilities remain in excellent condition.
• Perform custodial duties as needed, including groundskeeping, trash removal, carpet shampooing, and upkeep of mechanical and common areas.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and ensure compliance with brand and safety standards.
• Identify and communicate maintenance issues proactively to management.
• Assist with preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maintain property systems efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with pool and spa operations ; CPO certification (Certified Pool Operator) is a plus.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Experience in hotel or commercial property maintenance preferred.

Compensation

• Pay: Based on experience and qualifications.
• Schedule: Full-time (5 days / week) including weekends; on-call rotations may be required. Flexible schedule.
• Benefits: Access to employee rates at 7,000 Choice Hotels worldwide; participation in bonus plan; approximately 80 hours of paid time off per year.
