Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of data center HVAC systems and supporting infrastructure.
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment such as air and water-cooled chillers, centrifugal and screw package chillers, natural gas boilers, unit heaters, electric duct heaters, cooling towers, and water pumps.
- Support the maintenance and operation of HVAC air distribution systems, including air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), fans, and related devices.
- Work with pneumatic, direct digital control (DDC), and variable frequency drive (VFD) controls under supervision.
- Maintain assigned equipment in a clean, efficient, and first-class operating condition.
- Strive for continual improvement of technical skills through hands-on experience and trade literature.
- Demonstrate a strong desire to learn and excel in the HVAC industry.
- Perform after-hours assignments as required.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
- Must be a US citizen.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of HVAC service experience required; 2 years preferred.
- Basic knowledge of refrigeration principles.
- Working knowledge of basic electricity as it applies to HVAC systems and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to perform work thoroughly and neatly in accordance with industry standards, codes, and laws.
- Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills in the HVAC field.
