The Department of Medicine of the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is seeking a distinguished physician leader to serve as Chief of the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension with an academic appointment as Associate or Professor of Medicine. Applicants should have an established record of administrative and educational leadership experience along with clinical expertise and scholarly accomplishments in general nephrology and/or transplant nephrology practice.
Applicants will be expected to conduct scholarly work as well as facilitate interdisciplinary research across the Department, School, and University. Applicants should have a national and international reputation of excellence, with recognition for hers/his expertise in the field. Considered applicants will have a record of exemplary professionalism, mentorship, demonstrated understanding of the academic medicine mission, and ability to work closely with the Chair in this leadership role. The ideal candidate will be a highly collaborative and strategic leader.
Candidates must have a California medical license. The USC Department of Medicine offers competitive compensation, a generous benefit package and reasonable call responsibilities.
The annual base salary range for this position is $400,000-$500,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
