Job Description

L.A. Stevens & Associates, Inc. is located in Novato, Marin County, California. Approaching thirty years doing business throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, L.A. Stevens & Associates, Inc. is a well-established professional Land Surveying firm seeking a Land Survey Technician with the ability to obtain L.S.I.T. designation within 6 months of being hired. California licensure is preferable. However, surveyors wishing to relocate to California and obtain California licensure will be considered.

 
Responsibilities:

• Responsible for research, field, and office work.
• Work closely with the Principal Land Surveyor responsible for the work.
• Work produced by L.A. Stevens & Associates, Inc. includes simple & complex boundaries, land title surveys (ALTA), topographic mapping, least squares, adjustments, monitoring, forensic, GPS, Elevation Certificates, map preparation, legal descriptions, and construction staking.
• Overtime will be required based on project needs.

Requirements:

• Must be able to lift loads of 40+ pounds and be able to work in and around poison oak.
• Will be operating one of our company vehicles and must have a clean driving record as reported by the Department of Motor Vehicles of the State in which the applicant’s driver’s license is issued.
• Hearing and speech skills to effectively communicate in English in person and over the telephone or two-way radio.
• Noting the Principal of our firm is called upon as an Expert Witness in cases involving boundary disputes, one must welcome the art of finding and documenting old wood hub boundary corners and other boundary evidence for litigation.
