Principal Duties and Responsibilities

St. Columbkille Catholic School is seeking a positive and engaging Middle School Science Teacher to join our team.
• Teach middle school science, ensuring that students meet curriculum standards and academic expectations.
• Foster a faith-filled, inclusive learning environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth.
• Engage students with interactive, hands-on science activities that encourage curiosity and critical thinking.
• Incorporate Catholic values into lessons, creating a holistic educational experience for students.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and development.
• Serve as a homeroom teacher, fulfilling additional responsibilities such as student supervision and coordination of daily activities.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Understanding of academic, social, and emotional development for middle school students.
• Excellent communication skills with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
• Strong knowledge of middle school science concepts and the ability to teach them effectively.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude, adapt to various situations, and approach challenges with a strengths-based mindset.
• Patience, flexibility, and a passion for teaching and mentoring middle school students.
• Willingness to integrate Catholic faith into all aspects of teaching and student interaction.

Education and Experience
• Must be certified (or eligible to be certified) to teach in Nebraska.
• Must pass a background check and complete Safe Environment Certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education required
