Pay Range: $27.45 - $27.45 per hour

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Pharmacy Technician assists in the provision of pharmaceutical services under the direct supervision of the Registered Pharmacist by performing the technical, clerical, and manipulative tasks involved in dispensing, preparing, and distributing all medications and pharmaceutical products for all patient age groups and maintaining statistical records.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • New Jersey Registered Pharmacy Technician or eligible

Preferred:

  • PTCB certification
  • One-year previous pharmacy experience in a hospital setting and/or a pharmacy technician training course

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Per Diem

Essential Functions:

  • Technician is able to fill medication lists of all age groups accurately and prepare certain medication according to policy
  • Chemo set-up and preparation
  • Pharmacy area (ex., Pick area, main pharmacy, unit dose area, etc) restocking
  • Compounding and clean-up
  • Pyxis operations at the console and station
  • Direct and storeroom order receiving and processing
  • Medication delivery within 10 minutes
  • The position is also responsible for identifying and reporting hazardous environments or safety issues and medical errors to appropriate personnel
  • The position is also responsible for any other assigned tasks, as appropriate
