Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and direct field survey crews on civil construction projects.
• Perform accurate site surveys, including layout, staking, and as-built data collection.
• Interpret and understand construction drawings and specifications to ensure survey accuracy.
• Manage all survey documentation and provide reports to project management.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.
• Operate and maintain survey instruments and equipment, including GPS and total station systems.
• Train and mentor survey crew members to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any survey-related issues that arise during the project.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 5 years of experience as a  Civil Construction Survey Party Chief or in a related role in civil construction surveying.
• Proficiency in using GPS, total stations, and other survey equipment.
• Strong understanding of civil construction projects and the role of survey in project success.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Hours may vary depending on the project schedule, with a strong emphasis on meeting deadlines and project milestones.
