Job Description

Kansas City Hyundai is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations at our Merriam, KS dealership. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of automotive finance processes and proficiency with Dealertrack systems. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective management of accounting functions to support our growing business. Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee dealership financial transactions using Dealertrack and other automotive software systems.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors as necessary.
• Develop financial strategies to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Supervise and provide guidance to finance and accounting staff.
• Monitor cash flow and manage budgeting and forecasting activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Controller or similar financial management role in the automotive industry.
• Proficiency with Dealertrack Automotive Software is required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and dealership financial processes.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
