Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practitioner – Locum

Location: Lexington, KY

Royal Surgical Associates is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner to join a respected cardiothoracic surgery team at a leading hospital in Lexington, KY. This full continuum of care locum role offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled surgical team in both the operating room and inpatient/CVICU settings.

Contract Details:

Coverage begins February 2026 - 3-6 months to start and ongoing contract
Seeking a provider that is able to work full time or at least 1 week per month
Combination of surgery, Call, and inpatient coverage.
Includes weekday coverage, 10 hour shifts

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive pay starting at $140/hour , commensurate with experience
1099 contract structure for maximized take-home pay
All travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided
Streamlined credentialing and onboarding process

Key Responsibilities:

First-assist in a variety of cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including open heart and thoracic cases
Endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) mandatory
Provide pre- and post-operative management: rounding, consults, and discharges

Candidate Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiothoracic or related surgical specialty
Proficient first-assist skills; EVH mandatory
NCCPA certification - willingness to apply for KY state license
