The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU provides skilled nursing care to critically ill patients, including patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning. The RN will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and float between various ICU units, potentially including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU. In some instances, the RN may be asked to float to Medical/Surgical units to support staffing needs.

Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to ICU patients.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (Cerner).
- Float between various ICU units, including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU.
- Potentially float to Medical/Surgical units to support staffing needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- NIHSS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in ICU.
- Must live within 75 miles of the facility.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Local candidates preferred.
Special Considerations:
- Mandatory float facility; all resources are required to float at the facility's discretion.
- No block scheduling.
- No RTO on weekends.
- No holiday RTO.
- No RTO the day prior or after a holiday.
Scheduling:
- 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM.
- Every other weekend/ 2 weekends per month.
- First week (orientation + precepting shift) will be on day shift.
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
- Maximum of 5 days RTO, with no more than 2 consecutive days.
